October Boudoir Privé box

Hi everyone, for those who aren't already familiar with Boudoir Privé boxes, you pay a monthly fee and the lovely people there send you a monthly beauty box full of lovely sample products and believe me I look forward to it every month!
So here is this months.
I really was not dissapointed, I felt like a little girl on her birthday when I opened it and explored the products!
Here is what I recieved.
  • Cetum illumnating mask and creme de lite
  • Korres quince body butter
  • Leonor Greyl Huile de Palme
  • Memo Paris perfume sample
  • Full size Rose & co Rose petal salve
  • Full size Studiomakeup Liner styler pen in black
The first product I tried was this perfume, I am fussy with perfume and hate overbearing, too grown up scents!  I was really pleasently surprised with this scent as it was grown up but really gorgeous!  It was very sophisticated and kept the scent for a long time without being overbearing.  I have been using ths every day and am getting upset it's running out so I may be tempted to buy some for special occasions and evening meals out!

This is the Leonor Greyl Huile de Palme, now having recently had an awful haircut in which the lovely hairdresser took way too much off and messed up my layers I am now having to grow my hair back and as it looks awful down I have to leave it up, so I am saving this product for when my hair grows a little and I start abusing it with my dryer, tongs and straightners again as a treat!  I am super excited about his as it smells absoloutly delicious!

This is the rose petal salve and this has nt left my side since I received it!  I love, love, love it!  I have been using it mainly on my lips and I did use sme around my nose as the dreaded cold got me and I will definatly be repirchasing this when mine runs out-gorgeous thank you Boudoir Privé!

These are the Cetume illuminating mask and creme de lite.  This was another product I was delighted to recieve and I have to say I love them both and oh my goodness will be buying soon!  They did brighten my skin and my friend even complemented me on how glowing I looked that day so that sold it to me again!  Thanks again Boudoir Privé!

This Korres quince body buter is lovely and a real treat for my weather bashed body!  It is lovely and rich and has a lovely scent to it, please I love this months box, I am buying most things again!

This is the studiomakeup liner styler pen in black.  I have heard so many wonderful things about this product and other reviews have said it's one of the best liners they have used so tonight I am giving it a whirl and am sooo excited to be using this.

So that is it for this month and I have to say it was such an amazing box, I am counting down til next months and hoping it is just as amazing!  Thanks for reading x

Leighton Denny Babydoll

As I said previously I recieved a full size Leighton Denny polish in babydoll in my October glossybox.
I was super excited to try the polish as I have heard about Leighton Denny polishes before and not too long ago watched them being sold on QVC and really really wanted to try them.
The varnish itself seemed very thin and I needed 3 coats of it to get a really good colour.
The colour babydoll itself is more a salmony pink to me and looked quite nice on although I'm not convinced I would have chosen that myself.
I put 3 coats plus a topcoat on and when I woke up the next morning on one of my nails the polish had folded back on itself and I had to peel it off like I did on the nail varnish made for children!
It wasn't long before the rest f my nails followed and it didn't last 24 hours!  This maybe because I was going on holiday and had to load my car and drive etc, however none of my previous polishes have peeled quite like this one did.
I would like to try one more colour and give this range of polishes a good go, however my first impressions weren't what I expected and I was a little dissaopinted.

October Glossybox, Yey!

Hi everyone, I have to confess I get really excited about my Glossybox each month and this month was no exception, so I will get to it and show you this months!

Sorry the pictures upside down, I appreciate you bearing with me while I get the hang of all the settings!
Again really well presented and a birthday like feeling when I opened it.
The first two products were Dermalogica Age Smart Multivitamin Thermofoliant and Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque.

They smell very spa like and I am so excited about trying these two products as my skin needs a good pick me up lately and I feel these may help!  I will post a review as soon as I ahve given them a good try.

I then had Leighton Denny Expert Nails colour and care in Babydoll.  This is a fairly pale pink but not particually nude pink, it's a bit deeper.
I have wanted to try Leighton Denny nail polishes for a while as I keep hearing good things about them lately and saw him on QVC!  It really is spring/summer shade but I will give it a go very soon and let you know.
The next product again I was super excited about was the Stila smudge stick in Moray.

Stila is a brand I have been wanting to use and is about to make a comeback so I am really looking forward to using this and it says it's highly pigmented and delivers intense, vibrant colour with staying power and so this is going to be a hit with me if it delivers (and I'm pretty sure it will!).  I will keep you postedon how I get on.

Then I had a few sample frangrences from Robert Piguet, they were Fracas de Robert Piguet, Visa de Robert Piguet and Calypso de Robert Piguet.

To be honest from the bottle these smelt like not my sort of perfume, however I am going to try them on my skin for a day and pop the little bottle in my handbag and see how I go as I know perfumes smell very different on different skin so another exciting product as I love finding new fragrences.

The final product was a bonus product, again I was so happy with the product and it was Dermalogica Age Smart Renewal Lip Complex and this came within a little black beauty bag.

I am ALWAYS applying lipbalms and butters and anything to keep my lips nice and moist so when I first tried this I loved how think and rich it was, it had real staying power and my lips felt lovely with it on.  I'm going to keep this by my bed and put it on every night as it was a real treat for my lips and when it's gone I may well be tempted to buy the full size product.

That was it for this months glossybox and I'm already excited about my next one!  Speak to you soon.

Elf haul!

I recently put in an order at ELF and I only ever do this when they either have a 50% off or I really want something!  Last time I went a bit crazy and ordered quite a bit for me so I will do a quick review on the products I have tried out and the rest will come later.  Here is my order.

I odered 3 nail polishes in Berry Pink, Moonlight and Mod Mauve none of which I've tried yet but will let you know what I think of them.  I also ordered a few brushes mainly for eyes again I haven't had a real go I
wth them yet but they feel lovely and the crease brush I ordered I'm very excited about.  I ordered the therapeutic conditioning lip balm in Strawberry creme which I smelt OK, however the mechanism broke and I had to push it back in with my fingers and it flaked on my lips but once rubbed in a bit it stayed on my lips for ages and left a nice coating on them.  I ordered the corrective concealer which has 3 or 4 different colour concealers in it and I can't wait to try this at a later date.  Now for the products I have actually tried!!
The essential 32 piece eye palette in natural, when this came I fell in love with it instantly!
The shades are actually darker than in the picture, they just lightened in the flash.  For me it is the perfect everyday palette and great for a day to night look too.
There is every basic shade in there, a few are matt and some are shimmery, but with this palette you could create some very subtle day looks or some hot night time ones too, it is a great alrounder, I'm really glad I ordered this and am looking forward to experimenting!

I ordered  studio blushes, Tease and heartbreaker.  This was another product I was interested in trying as I quite like cream blushes at the moment.  Here is a swatch of them.
The top shade is Tease which was a nice brownish shade (sorry about the pictures I'm trying to find the right lighting!), this has a lovely texture to it and is fairly pigmented, however it wasn't quite right for my skintone but I may use it for contouring sometime.
The bottom shade is Heartbreaker which is a really fun pink shade, it's quite bright and pigmented (sorry if my photo doesn't do it justice).  After a bit of blending and a few minutes for it to settle it was a lovely colour and if you really wanted a pop of colour you could really get some pop from this or like I did a few layers for a more subtle look.

I also ordered 3 studio powder blushes from top to bottom they are Mellow Mauve, Blushing Rose and Tickled Pink.

Mellow Mauve is a lovely shade which is very wearable evryday, it wasn't too shimmery and was for me perfectly pigmented for building up or subtly having a little on.
Blushing Rose was quite pigmented, it was also a bit shimmery.  It looks almost deep plum red when I swatched it however I haven't really worn this shade yet.
Tickled pink was the least pigmented and it barely showed up on camera even once I built it up a bit.  This would be perfect for me in the winter as I get really pale and would be lovely during the day but it would need building up a bit!

The last product I tried was a radience blush in Coy, I'm a huge fan of Elfs radience blushes so was excited to get this.
It looks incredibly shimmery in the packaging and was really pigmented, it's a lovely rich colour and reminded me of some bronzers I've got (will post them when I remember which ones!)  This was such a rich colour for me I would definately wear it on a night out but was too dark for me during the day.

That was my Elf haul, I will post the rest of the reviews once I've tried them.  Bye for now

Great freebie for Mummy alert!

Hi everyone, just a quick post to say free with this months Marie Claire is a 50ml tube of L'Occitane handcream.  I have wanted a tube of their handcream forever so it is a great way to get a handy size tube for the winter months coming up. You can choose from Desert Rose from Morocco, Egyptian Hibiscus, Cocoa Flower from the Ivory Coast or the original Shea Butter.
Also a heads up I have just read on the MSE forum that next months Glamour magazine will have a free full size Nails Inc nail polish wit it.  Colours are to be confirmed but in my opinion if like me you read a ton of magazines it's worth it more with a fantastic freebie!  That issue of Glamour isn't out until November 3rd so I will be looking forward to that issue!
Right thanks for reading and I will post a mini review of the handcreams I decide to get another time.  See you all later.

Garnier BB cream review

This is a product that really appealed to me, one cream that does it all, anything that makes the morning routine quicker and gets the job done is right up my street!  So here is the product.
I brought the light cream as I am fairly pale, but I do get a bit of colour in the summer (along with quite a few freckles!), so i used the QVS airbrush with this and put a bit on the back of my hand and worked it into my skin.
I have to say I was a little unsure if it would work, however I was so pleased with the result.  It did even my complection and hide my red bits and to be honest it was all I used for the rest of summer.
Last week I was out with my husband and he looked at me and said very seriously "Are you wearing fake tan?" "No." I replied as I am not the fake tanning type!  "You look a bit of a funny colour."  he then said to me, well my summer tan had faded and maybe I had gone a bit ott with the bb cream and I looked in the mirror and in the natural light it did indeed look as if I was unnaturally dark on my face and neck!
So my final verdict is, this is a great product if you have quite good skin and a touch of colour, but please don't overdo it like I did!

Introduction

Hi everyone,
I have decided to start this blog as for the last few years I have thought about it and thought I just HAVE to do it rather than think about it all the time!
So a little bit about me, I'm a Mum of 2 little girls (growing too fast) and obviously being a Mum to them is my first love, then comes beauty and bargains (who doesn't love shopping!).
So I will be posting a little about my family, but the most will be about products I try or buy, bargains I have found and ideas I have tried or come accross.
I hope you enjoy reading the blog and would love for you to introducde yourselves in the comments below.
Another thing to know about me is I have been through a LOT in my life and am a great listener so if you have a problem or need someone to chat to you can always chat to me and I will do my best to support anyone in need.
Enjoy
