Febuary favourites

Hi everyone, Febuary has been a slow month makeup wise as I have been so busy with job searching and interviews that I have kept it so basic.  I am still trying to get into a new good skincare routine as my old one has for some reason stopped working!  So there aren't many products this month but I expect that will change over the next month with so many releases coming up.
Rimmel wake me up foundation
This has been the best foundation released onto the high street in a while in my opinion.  It does give your skin a nice dewy (non-greasy though) look and certainly perked my skin up during the last month.
Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream
This is a long time favourite of many people and although I have always thought it was a good product it wasn't until the last month I've fallen totally in love with it!  As I said above my skin this month is so unsettled and this has dealt with any dry patches on my face overnight!
Elf Studio blush in Tickled Pink
This has been a goto everyday blush this month as I have had to keep my makeup very professional and natural looking and this is a suit all natural shade.  It has very very slight shimmer to it but it is barely noticeable and is the perfect natural flush pink shade.
The Bodyshop lip scuff
I mentioned this in my best lip balms post and I use this every night without fail before my lip butter.  It works so well on buffing away any chapped lips and dry patches and I love it as it isn't sweet like some sugar scrubs as I don't like the taste of sugar!
The Bodyshop Aloe protective serum
I decided to try this after talking to the lady in the Bodyshop and asking her to recomend me something new to try!  She suggested this as it wasn't perfumed so souldn't upset my skin and I've been using this a few weeks and my skin is getting there!  It doesn't leave my skin oily which is always a concern with serums and sinks in beautifully.
Rimmel Lycra pro in Coral Romance
I have raved enough about these polishes so I will only say once more how I think they are the best high street polishes and are amazing (wish they had more shades though)!  The shade I love is coral romance and it is a great shade for this time of year and perfect for seeing in spring!

That is all my favourites this month, I'd love to know your favourites and if you blogged about them leave me a link or if you can recomend me any great finds you've come across.  Thanks for reading.

Lush twighlight bathbomb

Hi everyone, after a really intense week all I wanted to do was have a long soak on the bath and I got tons of Lush products for Christmas and have been working my way though them (which is very enjoyable)!
One of the bathbombs I got was the Twighlight one, I enjoyed it so much that I decided to do a post on it!
The Twilight bathbomb is very pretty!  It has lavender oil and tonka oils at the heart, there are also notes of caramel and malt which apparently enhance a sense of comfort and reassurance.
Once in the water the inside blue bit started foaming and it smelt amazing.
It was one of the foamiest bathbombs I've tried and kept going for ages and ages and smelt better and better (although as you know I am a lavender lover at the moment and you could definitely smell that!).
Once it had finished foaming it left a lovely frothy bath which glistened and was so inviting!
I tried to picture the glitter and it gave the bath an almost 3d effect and was really mesmerizing!
I would get this bathbomb again as it was such a pleasent experience and lovely bath, Lush never disappoints me!

Febuary 2012 Joliebox

Hi everyone, this months Jolie Box has been much anticipated as with a break in January and the promise of something exciting I had a high expectations for this months box.  I can honestly say it's been the best box of all time for me!  I thought another companies box was good this month but this one blew it out the water!  The reason for me was as I have mentioned I am really getting into more natural products and love trying products that have less chemicals in and this months box was a natural nourishment themed box so I was already excited just reading the message card.
The products were inside the box as usual but this month instead of the usual paper stuffing in the box it contained a bag with the products in which in my opinion is much muh better as once you've had a few boxes you have soooo many paper bits everywhere!

I loved peeking in the bag!

Let's get on with the contents!

Jane Iredale Just kissed lip and cheek stain in forever pink
This was in a mini lipstick form and the consistency was almost a vaseline form lipstick!  It glided on amazingly, it really stained my lips a reddish pink and was almost glossy.  It looked gorgeous on my lips and was very moisturising for them too.  I will be using this in my handbag!
Lavera Basis sensitive organic hand cream
This was described as an organic hand cream with shea butter and almond extracts, my description would be the best handcream I have come across in a long long time!  I went to put this on the first time and got a clear oil out!  After a little shake up I got some cream out and it smelt lovely!  Then as I went to rub it in it sunk in within a few seconds and left no oil or grease on my skin but my hand felt like I had just let a load of good oils sink in to it.  I really was blown away by this hand cream and I will be keeping this with me at all times!
Macadamia deep repair masque
Everyone I know who has tried Macadamia oil loved it so I was really excited to see this in the box.  I haven't tried it yet but promise as soon as I do I will review it as I'm really hoping this lives up to the oil and I have a feeling I won't be disappointed!
KIMIA rejuvenating facial system
This nice little package came with a hydro-activator spray and facial oil to use together and again this smelt nice and I loved how this was presented too as the card it came on came with quite detailed instructions and sometimes in these boxes the instructions aren't always there so that was really good.  The product itself said to use the oil and then the spray after cleansing so I will be starting this tomorrow and again will review it fully but it is a lovely product to get and I'm so excited about new skincare products as they are my favourite things to receive,
TAAJ Himalaya Micellar water
This is described as an antioxidant and tonic make-up remover that will revitalise and purify the skin.  I haven't used many water based face products and so again it's one of those really exciting products to receive.  It smells lovely and almost spa like.  It is a very good size and will be perfect for my new less chemical skincare!

Verdict
This months box exceeded my expectations and I am so happy Joliebox did a natural box as it gives me a chance to try more natural products as this is something I'm finding more and more important.  All the products themselves were amazing and I'm so excited to try them all.  It's rare you receive a box that you feel every product will be used entirely but this is one of them and I am already excited for next months, thanks Joliebox!

Sleek makeUP Au Naturel i-Divine review

Hi everyone, I know this is has been around a while and is really an A/W range but I'm still so in love with this eyeshadow palette that I felt I wanted to show it to everyone who hasn't yet purchased it.
This palette has a great range of colours for creating a neutral daytime look or a bit more of a glam evening smokey eye look.

This palette contains 12 eyeshadows and it surprised me how pigmented the shadows were.
The palette contains some highlighting shades and some very dark shades, the black on the far bottom right is hugely pigmented.

Here is the top row and the shade at the top which is the top right hand corner of the palette is my favourite out of the palette, it's a gorgeous gold and is so pretty.
Here is the bottom row which is the darker shades.
The palette itself is so versatile and you can create a lot of different looks with the palette.  It is very travel friendly as it is so slim and dainty.  I love this palette and I have been using it most days and I'm sure it will be a long time favourite of mine!

Febuary 2012 Glossybox

Hi everyone, sorry it's been such a long time, we have been away this last week and I've had a mad busy time, but I am back now and so here is this months Glossybox!
It is the London fashion week edition with products that will keep you looking your best and invigorated, I love fashion week so this box excited me!

DuWop Venom Gloss
This was in the shade buttercup and it is a very pretty pink with shimmer.  I have used venom gloss before and can honestly say it is fab!  This will be perfect for my clutch on my next night out, thanks Glossybox!

Dr Bronner Magic Liquid Soap
This says it is a mixture of organic extra virgin coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils with essential oils.  This is a pretty odurless soap and I have recently been buying lots more organic and natural products so this was a lovely product to try.

BM Pure Mineral Eyeshadow
This is in the shade platinum Tiara and is quite simply beautiful!  I really love the pigmentation of this product and the shdae is really nice too, also an added bonus for me is that it is minerals which I'm loving lately!
Paul Mitchell Round Trip
This is a fast drying curl definer which will be nice for next time I curl my hair.  It smells gorgeous, I know this because sadly mine had leaked all in my box!  Still there is enough product left in the bottle to give it a fair try.
Como Shambhala Invigorate body lotion
I have saved the best til last!  This body lotion smells incredible!  It says it has Eucalyptus, Geranium, lavender and peppermint essential oils and my goodness do they smell amazing together!  I am a sucker for any product that promises lavender essential oils as recently I've become quite partial to the smell and this product is right up my street and I will be using this tonight!

Feel unique Febuary 2012 beauty box

Hi everyone, ths is only the second month I got feel unique's beauty box and they did not disappoint me! I have to be honest it was one of my favourite ever beauty boxes and I will use every product in the box without a doubt!
This month there were six samples which was great as some companies use perfume samples as an item but this one was an added extra!

Leighton Denny Viva la diva
This picture is not a true reflection of this polish.  It is a pillar box red with a slight coralness to it.  It is a lovely shade and I will be using it so I will post a true reflection of this colour in the future.

Elemis Exotic lime and ginger hand and body wash
When I saw Elemis in the box I shrieked with delight!  They are an amazing brand and I had been watching them on QVC the day before thinking what I'd like to purchase from them!  This smells quite exotic and I can't wait to out his in my shower!

Nuxw Multi-useage dry oil
I think along with a lot of people I have gone a little oil crazy over the last year!  I was so thrilled to receive this sample and it's a great size too.  It's muli-useage and as the leaflet explains you can use it with your foundation for a dewy look or in your hair, I will be doing both!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer
I have read about this and am very curious so again I was so happy to get this product!  I am shortly having a new hairstyle (again after a bad do!) so I will be using this then as it seems wasted on my hair right now (will I be able to resist though!!)

Decleor phytopeel face peel cream
Another wow product for me!  This is a facial peel for use once or twice a week and it says it exfoliates, smoothes whilst eliminating impurities.  My best friend is a beauty therapist trained in Decleor facials and products and she swears this is an amazing product!  I can't wait to try it.

Jean Paul Gaultier KokoRico
This was the bonus sample, it's a good size too and a well known brand.  The fragrance isn't for me but it will get some use as I'm sure my Mum will love it!

What an amazing beauty box and I'm already excited for the next months box as if it's anywhere near as good as this one I will be extremely happy!
What products do you want to try?

Rimmel pro Coral Romance

Hi everyone, as I have said many times before the Rimmel pro are by far my favourite high street polishes and I love them soooo much!  I was going out this weekend and fancied something a bit brighter as I'm trying to persuade spring to come!  So I opted for one of my most used shades of last year and that was Coral Romance.
This is a red toned coral colour and I adore it.  I tried to photograph it in a few lights for you to give you a better idea of the shade but the below image is fairly true to the shade.
I love how this shade is more red than orange coral as it suits most skintones whereas orangy corals don't tend to suit my more English rose complexion!!
Which are your favourite nail polish shades and what will you be wearing this spring?  Thanks for reading and don't forget to subscribe x

Beauty tip for Tuesday

Hi everyone, this weeks beauty tip is one of my favourite little tricks and it even was mentioned in a magazine last week as being one that Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh!
Most people have heard to use toothpaste on spots

But my preference is sudocrem.
It dries out spots almost overnight and really makes a huge difference and I would recomend getting a pot if you don't have one as it is the most useful product to have in and can be used on so many ailments other than spots and nappy rash!
What are your favourite tips and tricks?

Andrew Barton S.O.S Last another day review

Hi everyone, I'm not a huge fan of grocery shopping (it's about the only type of shopping I'm not keen on!)  I hate people leaving their trolleys in the middle of the aisle and stretching for what they want and blocking you (ggrr) or the people blocking the aisle having a chat!  I do love it however when you go later in the evening and it's peaceful and you can take your time looking at the food and making less hasty choices!  The best bit for me thought is a supermarket with a beauty aisle!  I found that my new local Asda has a huge beauty range and I spent ages browsing it a couple of weeks ago and found a few products that were new to me.
Andrew Barton has a huge haircare range at Asda and it is very resonalbly priced so I thought 'd try a few products and the first one I've been using for a few weeks is the S.O.S last another day dry shampoo.
This smells divine!  It's quite possible the best smelling dry shampoo I've used!  I applies it to my roots and waited a minute but there was no white powdery residue left so I rubbed it in anyway and if I'm brutally honest I didn't think it did much apart from leave my hair smelling nice!  My hair was only day old so had minimal grease but it didn't seem to absorb that and I'm not sure if this is more of a shine spray as it did leave it more shiny but not in a good way!  I was quite disappointed with this product and won't be repurchasing, it's only redeeming factor was the beautiful smell!

Lipcare and best lip balms

Hi everyone, I emptied my bag yesterday and found 6 lip balms hiding there!  I'm sure I'm not alone in owning many lip balms and seem to have them everywhere but they're always useful!
I definitely have my favourites and so I thought I'd share them with you.
I'm sure most people own a tin of Vaseline or two and they are hugely popular.  I do like them and find them handy as they are good not just for your lips but they aren't my favourite lip balms.

The Bodyshop do amazing lip butters and balms and their butters are amoung my favourites of all time and I even remeber having them when I was 11!  They are really thick and hydrating and taste delicious!  Their natural roll on lip balms are very oily but leave your lips very glossy, however I don't find them hydrating enough.

Palmers cocoa and mint lip butter is a handbag must!  It's super hydrating, leaves the perfect gloss and really protects your lips.  I love love love it!
Softlips is a recent purchase and I heard it has a cult like following so had to try it.  It's vanilla flavour but also has a menthol effect on your lips leaving them tingling and refreshed, I'm enjoying it so far!

Here are a couple of random ones I like and one is a Dermalogica age smart one and this is the best ever lip treat!  It is thick but not yuk thick, it stays on lovely.  This was from a beauty box ages ago but I am looking to purchase a full size very soon.
The other is a Bourjois intensive night balm I purchased about a year ago and I am not sure if you can still but this one.  I use it everynight though and it is very hydrating and works a treat for chapped sore lips.

Every night I exfoliate my lips and there are a few ways to do this.  You can use a spare toothbrush and brush them dryly over a sink and that should buff away any dry or dead skin.  You can use a sugar scrub like the ones Lush sell.  I do love these however they are too sweet for me and I don't like the taste of sugar.  Then you could use a lipscuff from the body shop  (http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/_en/_gb/catalog/product.aspx?ParentCatCode=C_Makeup&CatCode=C_Makeup_Lips&prdcode=11720m) which is my preferred way.  It has very fine almost grit pieces in and is such a gentle exfoliant it's brilliant.  I then follow it up with a lip butter of choice and in the mornings my lips look much smoother and not at all flakey.

If I was to recomend two products to keep lips in good order they would be.
The Bodyshop lip scuff (sorry about poor lighting again!) and the palmers dark chocolate and perppermint lip butter, the pair seperate are amazing but together they work amazingly and I have already gone through 2 tubes of the lip butter, it's that lovely to use.
Thanks for reading
